Phylogeny
The accepted phylogeny for these species is
Although the placement of Dere and Dyak as sister species is the best supported phylogeny, alternate phylogenies are well supported by moderate proportions of genes and chromosomal locations. This variation could confound a naive phylogenetic analysis of these species.
Genome computed phylogenies
Phylogenetic trees based on protein similarity and gene order are close to accepted phylogenies, with some deviation in Dsim and Dwil (see assembly summaries).
- These deviations seems to me logical as the trees are rooted with MLG. KimvdLinde 05:34, 22 May 2006 (PDT)
Branch length Comparisons
Sliding window D. sechellia vs D. simulans Drosophila (Sophophora) sechellia [13]
Example:
Trees with branch lengths based on pre-consensus Eisenlab gene annotations can be found at http://rana.lbl.gov/~dan/trees.html. New trees will be generated when consensus annotations are finalized.
