Greetings. You have found the website of one Daniel Avery Pollard (that red-headed fellow over to the right).
I am currently living in the suburbs (North Berkeley Hills) of a suburb (Berkeley) of a suburb (Oakland) of San Francisco.
Aside from a little rain for a few months of the year I'd say the east bay is a lovely place to live.
Most days I take time off from rock climbing with my partner Suzanne, playing with my two cats and working in my garden to do research in evolutionary genomics in Michael Eisen's lab at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
While in Berkeley I've completed a PhD in Biophysics and Computational and Genomic Biology. UC Berkeley has amazing opportunities in Computational Biology.
Some days I put on a different hat and play bass and guitar in the experimental rock band Spouse. I also help run a small but talent rich record label called Pigeon Records. Life would be dull without having many hats to wear.
My major research interests fall in the general area of the evolution of development and the origins of organismal diversity. Please visit my research page for more details.
